They can be purchased one of the following ways: Center Stage Youth Performers based in Pleasant Grove, Utah, are excited to produce the calypso-flavored musical Once On This Island Jr. This “young audience” version is perfect for the entire family and is a “jubilant musical, set in the Caribbean, but it has a serious heart,” says writer Lynn Ahrens. “This show deals with issues of prejudice; it’s also about parents and their children and the inevitability of growth, change, grief and letting go.” |

This highly original and theatrical adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid tells the enchanting story of Ti Moune (Amy Davis), the poor peasant girl who rescues, nurses and falls in love with Daniel (Facundo Regazzoni), an upper class man from a wealthy family on the other side of the island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the mystical Gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her great love. Once on This Island Jr. delivers music, love and joy in tropical abundance. Once On This Island is directed by Lori Sanders with musical direction by Jeremy Showgren and choreography by Kristen Bradley. The original Once On This Island opened on Broadway in 1990 and received several awards including eight Tony Award nominations (including) Best Musical, the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the Gene Kelly Award for Best Musical. It is based on the novel “My Love, My Love” with book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephan Flaherty. Ahrens and Flaherty have also written Seussical, Anastasia, and Ragtime. “I have loved this musical from the first time that I heard it. It will forever be one of my favorite stories - one that I will pass down to the generations in my family,” Sanders said. “I am excited to work with this fantastically gifted cast of 86 youth.
